Hoops Vine recently caught up with Sacramento Kings starting point guard Beno Udrih to discuss the Mike Bibby trade, his goals, the Kings playoff chances and more.

Hoops Vine: Beno, the trade that sent Mike Bibby to Atlanta has given you the starting spot for the Kings. How do you feel about the opportunity? Is it going to be a challenge?

Beno Udrih: Definitely a challege, always a challenge. But when Mike got hurt at the beginning of the season, you know I was a free agent, I thought this team was the best opportunity for me because Mike was out for another two months. So I knew when he came back I probably was going to get less minutes.

I started the first 30 games of the season, then he came back and my minutes went down, but I was still there to help the team. No matter how many minutes I get, I have to play as hard as I can.

And you know when I heard the rumors that they were trying to trade him, you know Mike was a good guy, I like him he was a great teammate, but as we all know this is a business, they do business and we're here to play basketball.

So whatever they do, we have to agree with it and go with it.

Hoops Vine: So playing in the NBA reaching your ultimate goal, what's next more NBA championships?

Beno Udrih: I got two championships with San Antonio, so I got that goal, but still I just want to play. In San Antonio, I didn't get a lot of opportunity so I wanted to be somewhere else.

The San Antonio Spurs are a world class organization. I was happy there.

They let me go out, they could still have me there as a third point as insurance if somebody gets hurt. So they helped me because I told them that I want to play. That's my goal to keep playing hard and be consistent.

Hoops Vine: I notice that when you drive to the lane you utilize a quick spin. Did you take that from Manu Ginobili or did he take it from you?

Beno Udrih: I don't know, I think that maybe it's a thing for all the lefties to get back to the left. When I drive to the lane and the defense catches up with me, their momentum is going one way and I'm slowing down. Then I do the spin.

The right handers do the spin a totally different way. It works for me, like all the time so I'm going to keep using it.

Hoops Vine: Three straight wins, you guys going to make a playoff run?

Beno Udrih: Well we're always thinking about the playoff hopes so I mean there are a lot of games to go, but we all know the West is tough so we have to get more wins and like you said we got three wins in a row, now so hopefully we can keep going with this winning streak.

Hoops Vine: Beno, thanks for your time.

Beno Udrih: Thank you.
